Whitney’s gorgeous bouquet

Whitney’s gorgeous spring of 2011 bouquet. Need I say more?

Publications: Post 1

There is always a butterfly of delight inside an artists soul when the bridal magazines hit news stands, I would imagine a similar feeling to a bride’s excitement about a new mag. There is no replacement for the beautiful pages held in hand. As an artist the effect of the twittered wings inside is immensely magnified when one’s work is inside those pages!

You will also find amongst these turning pages a real wedding feature on Mikelle & Judson Vintage floral at its best!

Thank you SL/PC B&G & Events by LMG for awarding me the opportunity to be involved and a part of your bridal artistic vision and content, I feel extraordinarily blessed and grateful!

best of 2012

It might as well be spring right? Very unusual for a Utah winter! That’s ok because right in line with the weather most of you recently betrothed brides are planning spring and summer weddings. So today a look back at a little spring inspiration, one of my favorite projects of 2011. The new year always brings a few glimpses back on what was and excitement about what is to come and here at Studio Stems we are no exception. I am thrilled about what is to come in 2012 and delighted with what was in 2011. It was a great year!

You might remember this tulip inspired spring shoot produced for Salt Lake Park City Bride & Groom mag and was designed by LMG events, shot by David Newkirk. Paper goods created by Pink piggy Design. The simple modern feel resulted in some of my favorite work for the year. Enjoy!

A red wedding in cozy park city utah

Some of you may have seen one of our recent weddings on UBB this last Friday. If not please check it out here.  A big shout out and thank you to Opie Foto for sharing these gorgeous images and to my two fabulous and talented assistants Neena & Julia for their amazing work on this event.

Keely and Chris have a love for films & their festivals! So they chose the majestic mts of Park City Utah to wed. They are Canadians with great style and laid back personalities. Keely was one of my most fun brides to design for and interact with over the months that we planned this floral affair. They wanted a mostly red event with some neutral tones accents of gold and grays with a little bit of black. We also incorporated a few film like elements into their simple yet profound floral design mix.

And on that note … Studio Stems is signing off the remainder of the 2011 year. We will be out of the office and unavailable Dec 26th- Jan 2nd. At which time all messages will be promptly returned.

We want to wish all our readers, friends, clients, and industry professionals a very Merry Christmas {or Happy Holiday!} and a fantastic New Year!

Lindsey’s red butte wedding {opie foto}

A little visit back to warmer times here in UT to the summer of 2011 and Lindsey’s Red Butte Garden wedding. Red Butte has a very tropical feel to their orangarie and lindsey wanted to play off this a bit by using very bright colors and designs that felt tropical. She loves lilies so we used a lot of them!  Her bouquet was full of texture but the large bloomed lilies were the focus, the groom adorned a white orchid bout while the other men wore yellow orchid bouts. The bridesmaids carried brightly colored bouquets that complimented their equally bright dresses and also doubled as centerpieces in rented classic ti leaf wrapped glass vases.

the wedding of one of our own

In 2010 one of my assistants married in Newport Beach Cali and Neena & I had the floral time of our lives doing her wedding, in 2011 Studio Stems has been blessed to be the artistic voice behind another special wedding, Neena’s. This lady is so near and dear to both my personal and artistic heart and creating floral designs just for her brought on special meaning to my craft. A very fall inspired wedding with rich blends of culture and color. You may have seen it already, it was featured on UBB last Friday! There you can find the reason behind the designs and the input of both Neena & I in regards to the floral art for her blessed nuptial. And here you can enjoy the visuals!

Heather’s summer nuptial @ Wadley Farms

Heather’s wedding was this past summer @ Wadley Farms in Lindon, UT. She wanted a country type style with simple but lovely arrangements. Her colors were Purple & Orange, a tricky combo if you dont want to look to halloweeny so we used a lot of whites, greens, and accented in gold & yellows. I especially loved the Gloriosa lily in the orange arrangements and the opportunity to use a lot of texture.

Natalie

Today on UBB, flower Friday takes a look back at what our local artists had to contribute to the bridal floral market in way of navy, pink, white, and gray tones. {a 2011 color scheme trend} I contributed a peak into Natalies summer wedding that incorporated just those colors!
